Cool & Dre — Miami, FL.

Who doesn't love working out of state to get a little break from the norm? Especially if beaches are involved! Even though there wasn’t much time to play, I still enjoyed painting outside this legendary studio. Each design was inspired and sponsored by Backwoods. I was given the task to replicate the mockup designs onto these storage containers. I had no more than 24 hours to paint each concept and apply the Backwoods logos on each container. This was a down to the wire finish. I missed my return flight, but in the end it was an experience to remember. I met some great people and it was cool being able to see different music artists and engineers occupy these spaces to collaborate on music. The concept of turning a storage container into mini studios is dope. This was a fun collab for sure.

Much like the storage containers, these rug concept designs were presented to me and I was asked if I was able to paint on them. I ended up completing artwork on a total of three rugs. A Backwoods logo rug, an AJ1 rug, and a “No Stress” rug (no pictured). Now I’ve had my fair share of painting on rugs, but I’m not gonna lie… these were surprisingly a little challenging. It was all in the details. For instance, on the logo rug, the existing rug print needed to be removed. Believe it or not, color matching paint to a rug close enough to make it look like there never was a background wasn’t the easiest. Also, having to make the surgeon general warning label legible on a fibrous material was all new for me. You can see this in the picture below with DJ E Sudd. Projects like these, I considered to be some of the best projects because I learned new techniques during in the process.

Future Hendrix Cigar Crates

I always appreciate working on Backwoods projects. Every one has been completely different from the other. Concepts have always been provided to me and I get the fun part of executing it. For this one, I got to customize these wooden boxes to look like a real cigar crate for Future. This was pretty straight forward. Three tiered size crates all with the same print. In the end, I went ahead and threw in a little razzle-dazzle with 24k gold leaf sheets.
